Game 1:

The Blackhawks simply couldn’t get anything going offensively. Neither could the Blues within regulation, as both goalies stood on their heads to force a 0-0 overtime.

Final Score: Blues 1, Blackhawks 0

Hero of the Game: Corey Crawford

Game 2:
The Blackhawks quickly learned to score and they got themselves back on the board in the Blues’ home arena. PP stepped up with Shaw scoring on his own drawn penalty, Kane and Toews provided assists, and Keith scored. The stars stepped up. For the Blues, the stars also stepped up but they had a harder time figuring out Crawford.

Final Score: Blackhawks 3, Blues 2

Hero of the Game: Artemi Panarin

Game 3:
The Blackhawks got outplayed, and couldn’t figure out Brian Elliot. The Blues were better able to play their own game, and the Blackhawks blew the lead in the third period.

Hero of the Game: Artem Anisimov

Game 4:
The Blackhawks attempted to step up big, especially with energetic play from Duncan Keith and Andrew Shaw. Unfortunately, the Blues continued to make the Blackhawks play the Blues’ style, and it ended with the Blues being the better team at that style. Shaw managed to get himself suspended and fined as well, so there’s that.

Final Score: Blues 4, Blackhawks 3

Game 5:
The Blackhawks came back in a heart attack fashion. Going to OT on the brink of elimination is not a smart idea for the health of the fans, but when Patrick Kane is on your team you’re probably going to get a win when it matters, and Kane made it happen.

Final Score: Blackhawks 4, Blues 3

Game 6:
The Blackhawks finally played their game, instead of doing what the Blues wanted them to, and everyone came out in full force. The stars shined, and the Blackhawks got performances from unexpected places. The Blues couldn’t keep their momentum swing going, and the prevent defense didn’t work. There’s a lot of choices for hero of the Game, so I’m going to go with three stars.

Three Stars: Dale Weise, Richard Panik, Trevor Van Reimsdyk

This series has seen a lot of different people coming out of unexpected places. Let’s hope that continues and we find a way to win game 7. If we do, there are a couple contenders for series MVP, but it really boils down to three – Andrew Shaw, Duncan Keith, and Corey Crawford. If those three continue their dominance into the next game we should be fine. They’re putting 100% into the games they play, but Richard Panik is also coming on strong here at the end.
