The Morning After… Blackhawks vs. Avs 12/31 Kaner’s Revenge

Happy New Year. Quite a good way to ring it in for the Blackhawks. Let’s get to it.

Three Stars:

  1. Patrick Kane
  2. Artem “Not Artemi” Anisimov
  3. Jonathon Toews

Really a positive game. We finally beat the Avalanche and Kane got his revenge. Two points over the guy who ended the streak. He’s gotta feel good. That whole second line has gotta feel good. Like I’ve said, the best line in hockey helps this team when they’re playing well.

Jonathon Toews continues to establish dominance in OT, and him Kane and Seabs should be the first line from now on.

Darling finally gets another win. It seems like we’ve continued to let him down in games but he gets his two points and we should take away the lesson that we have two talented goal tenders so why not use both.

I really dislike Beauchemin now. It seems like he may have given Shaw a head injury – or may have been trying to. He was my surprise player for the Avalanche, but just like the team itself, I have found a strong hatred for their number three defenseman. Francois can go screw himself. He’s a dirty player who deserves a suspension.

This is a game that proves the two goal lead is the most dangerous in hockey. We got comfortable and we allowed them back into the game. We can’t keep doing that.

All in all this is a positive game for the Hawks. A win is a win, especially over a team we haven’t beat since 2013.
