Well. Look’s like old problems are bubbling back to haunt us. We can’t score and we can’t help Corey Crawford out in any physical way. In other words, this team can’t win. Something needs to be done, because if we can’t get off our asses and play this year, we mortgaged our future for nothing. So… Let’s get into it. I guess.
What the fuck is with the chemistry on this team? There is none. I know that a lot of our guys were traded for not much (I refuse to believe that Andrew Ladd is anything more than depth and Flash and Weise are not playing together. Scuderi looks better than Ehrhoff now too.) but we need to stay together as a group. We can’t beat the best, and that’s all the playoffs is. With the way the team is currently playing, I wouldn’t be surprised if we ended up with the first wild card and a first round exit. Something needs to change desperately.
It might be putting the lines together. You know, the actual playoff lines. The lines that look like this:

Ladd-Anisimov-Hossa
Weise-Teuvo-Flash
Desi-Rasmussen/Kruger-Shaw
Keith-Seabrook
Hjammer-Ehrhoff/Roszival
TVR-Goose
This actually provides balance for the team, and allows the people who are accustomed to playing together to play together. Yes, I believe putting the two best wings on the team with our best center will make the best first line in hockey. Crazy right? Also moving Shaw back to his natural position and putting him with someone he plays well with and can be offensively dominant paired with, so that the fourth line gets back on track? Just insane.
In terms of defense, we need to put a defenseman with an offensive defenseman. It’s simple. Roszival plays better with more minutes, and putting him with Hjammer would allow that, and Ehrhoff would provide offensive spark in that pairing. TVR and Goose are the future of the defense, so allowing them to develop together would be a smart move.

The system is broken. Something needs to be done to repair it. I don’t think Q wants anything right now, and it’s troubling. Figure it out. It’s not hard.
